How do you count the days of the week?
Calculations require each date (day, month, year) to find the Gregorian calendar (or Julian before 1582) and find out the mathematical formulas.
There are algorithms that allow mental computation (not always easy), but get it wrong for dates before 1900. In principle the principle consists in performing a calculation of the number of days, months, years and obtaining a modulo value of 7 with 0 for Monday, 1 for Tuesday, 2 for today is Wednesday, 3 for Thursday, 4 for Friday, 5 for Saturday and 6 for Sunday. Use this formula to calculate this year’s code:
(YY + (YY div 4)) Моd 7
YY indicates the last two digits of the year. For 1897 the number was 97.
First divide YY by 4 and remove the remainder: 97 div 4 = 24.
Then add 24 back to the YY number, in this case 97, which makes 121.
The next step is: 121 mod 7.
“Mod” means dividing the number and keeping only the rest. For 121 Mod 7, remove seven:
10 x 7 is 70 and that leaves 51 because 121 – 70 = 51.
7×7= 49 and 51-49 = 2.
We deleted the seventh out of 121 and left a remainder of 2. This is the 1897 code.

Difference between the two calendars Julian and the Gregorian?
There are two differences, namely the first difference in the calculation of leap years and the second, which is a consequence of the fact that the Gregorian calendar has a leap of several days in 1582.
Leap year code

Where did their names come from?

Early 21st century
- January 1, 2000:
- Start with ’00 and leave the year code zero.
- January has a monthly code of zero.
- The number of days is 1.
- The century code for the 2000s date is 6.
- 2000 is a leap year because it can be divided by 400 and the date is January or February. So in the last step, subtract 1 from the total.
- Answer: 0 + 0 + 1 + 6 – 1 = 6.
January 1, 2000 is a Saturday.
What are the two weeks from today?
